The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), known as the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year,’ was established in 2002 by the Dubai government. It’s a vibrant waterfront community and the licensing authority for businesses operating in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), offering free zone benefits and freehold development opportunities. DMCC features 79 towers, including Almas, AU, and AG towers, with Almas Tower being the focal point, housing the Dubai Diamond Exchange and companies in the diamond, gold, energy, and commodities sectors. For company setup in DMCC, businesses must hold a valid office lease or own a freehold office space and maintain an up-to-date license issued by the DMCC Authority. Basic Features of a DMCC Company:

A DMCC company is a limited liability company, with shares held by one or multiple shareholders, either individuals or corporate entities. The minimum share capital required is AED 50,000 (AED 10,000 per shareholder) for Specific Trading or Service Licenses, and AED 1,000,000 for a General Trading License. Each share has a value of AED 1,000 or more, and the capital can be used for business operations. Branches of local or foreign companies do not require initial share capital. DMCC companies must appoint at least one Director, Manager, Secretary, and Negotiator, and the same person can hold multiple roles. The Manager must be on the company’s residence visa under the Free Zone Authority’s sponsorship and must enter the UAE at least once every six months to validate the visa.
